Although La Liga hasn't won a lot in one round, the UEFA Europa League is the most winning team ever in five career wins. A club symbolizing the pride of eastern Seville, with a tradition of more than 100 years. It has long been known for fighting with Real Betis over the lead position in Andalusia, southern Spain.
So, the rivalry confrontation between the two teams called 'Andalusian Derby' or 'Sevilla Derby' is one of Spain's most intense and violent derby along with Sporting Gijon and Real Oviedo's 'Asturias Derby'. Even El Classico can say that he can't even get a business card in the violent part. In the past, owners also had fists and fistfights, and Sevilla owners even pushed Real Betis owners down the stairs and rolled them down.
It is nicknamed 'Los Nervionenses' and is nicknamed because the team is based in the eastern area of Seville called Nervion. Nervion has been one of Seville's most modernized areas and commercial centers and is home to the prestigious Seville University. Thus, Seville is a 'rich man's club' that has been supported by the middle class since the foundation.
This background has caused tremendous discrimination against the working class. Shortly after the founding, Bettys was the club that was created by dissatisfied opposition forces by refusing to join the workers or poor players.
Betis was also a club initially supported by the aristocratic and royal family, as the title 'Real' says, but since he accepted all the workers and fans rejected by Seville, the birth itself was 'anti-Seville'. I had no choice but to. Seville fans Seville and Betis fans Betico were unable to coexist from the beginning.
The Sevillalists despised Beticos by calling them 'Feliz', while the Beticos mocked Sevilles by calling them 'Palaganas'. Sevilla and Betico, who are close to 100 years old, are said to be more pleased that their opponents are defeated than the team they support wins.
After the sudden death of Antonio Puerta in 2007, the mood has eased a lot, but the relationship between Ultra is still very bad. During the derby, the police of each team was mobilized and escorted to support the team.
Founded by the British in 1905, the first game played was the Huelva Recreation Club (now Recreativo de Huelva). After not seeing for a while, Ramon Sanchez Pis Juan was inaugurated in 1932 and won two general cups (currently Copa del Rey) in 1935 and 39 respectively, and in 1941 President Sanchez was dedicated to the Spanish Football Association's Vice President To resign. Later on, he served as president of Antonio Sanchez Ramos, and in 1942, Mayor of the Sevilla Mayor Geronimo Dominigues won the league in 1945/46 and the general cup in 1947/48. In 1948, Pis Juan returned after seven years, but died in 1956, causing grief to fans, and two years after his death, a stadium was named after him. However, after the move to the ballpark, he continued to promote and relegate and became unstable. In the 1990s, star players such as Diego Maradona and Davor Suker went through the team but faced a crisis just before bankruptcy in early 1995. 1997-98, 1998 -99, 2000-01 season in the second division league Segunda Division, etc., before reaching the peak of the dark period.
However, in the late 1990s, investment was made with a long-term perspective to develop youth teams. President Roberto Ales Garcia, who was appointed in 2000, appointed Moncchi as the Director of football, and in 2002 Jose Maria del Nido was appointed as the chairman to reorganize the club's operating system. This effort has been fruitful since the mid-2000s, with the results of Jose Antonio Reyes, Jesus Navas, and Sergio Ramos. During this period, Sevilla won two UEFA Cup wins and Copa del Rey wins, UEFA Super Cup wins and Supercopa wins under the direction of Juan de Ramos. During the competition, the season was unfortunately ended with the third place behind five points by Real Madrid and Barcelona by runners-up, and this season continued until Manolo Himenes.
Just as there is darkness with light, Antonio Puerta, who was also the team's leading defender in 2007 and also a member of the Spanish national team, experienced the tragedy of a heart attack during the game. Since the 2010s, it has been far from the league championship but has been strong in the European stage, being pushed by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, which have been established as world-class strong teams, and Atletico Madrid, which has rapidly emerged as the two new teams. However, after the resignation of manager Jimenez in 2010, four coaches passed after three years, and skilled players gradually left and showed unstable inside and outside the team.
The 2010-11 season also ranked fifth in the league, but the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons ranked ninth in a row. Luckily, Layo Vallecano, 8th in the 2012-13 season, was disqualified from the Europa League due to financial problems, and instead Sevilla entered the 2013-14 Europa League. Coincidentally, rival Real Betis also placed 7th and 6th place, Malaga CF lost the right to advance into the Europa League due to the same problem and instead made the move.
In the 2013-14 season, he replaced manager Unai Emeri and finished the group stage with a 5: 0 and 4: 1 victory over Poland's WKS Slask Wroclaw in the Europa League playoffs. Group Stage H opponents are SC Freiburg, Estoril Praia (Portugal), and FC Slovan Liberec (Czech Republic). He went 3rd with 3 wins and 3 draws and advanced to the 32nd round. In the Round of 32, NK Maribor of Slovenia with a total score of 4: 3 and in the Round of 16 regional rival Real Betis with a total score of 2: 2 penalty shoot-out 4: 3 to advance to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals, they lost 1: 0 in the away game against FC Porto, but finished in a semi-final with a 4: 1 victory at home in the second game. In the semifinals, they competed against the same league team, Valencia CF. They won home 2: 0 in the first leg but lost 1: 3 on the away. Eventually, the goal was to reach the finals by the away goal rule and aim to win the third Europa League in seven years.
The final match held in Turin was Benfica, the runner-up team in the last tournament. The game was fierce, but ended in draw overtime, winning the third Europa League in seven years, winning 4: 2 with the goalkeeper Betu's lead in the penalty shootout. In the Champions League, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid entered the finals, winning Real Madrid, and the Primera Riga team won the two European club championships. It was only eight years later that it was Sevilla who won the 2005-06 Champions League championship, FC Barcelona, and then the Europa League, the UEFA Cup.
