Burnley F.C. (Burnley Football Club) is a professional football club based in Burnley, England, founded in 1882 and joined the Football League established in 1888.

He won the first division in the 1920-21 and 1959-60 seasons, defeating Liverpool in 1914 and winning the FA Cup. It is also one of three clubs (Burnley, Preston North End, and Wolverhampton Wanderers) with a record of winning all levels of English professional football, from the first division to the fourth division. His best performance in Europe was in the 1961 European Cup (now UEFA Champions League) quarterfinals.

After being relegated in 1976, he stayed only in the lower leagues, finished 5th in the 2008-09 football league championship, advanced to the playoffs, and succeeded in being promoted to the Premier League by defeating Sheffield United. However, he reached 19th in the 2009-10 season and was relegated after only one season, and participated in the football league championship until the 2013-14: season. After that, he was promoted to the Premier League in the 2014-15 season but was relegated to the Football League Championship in the 2015-16 season. After winning the 2015-16 season championship, he returned to the Premier League again in the 2016-17 season.
